Descripción:The following article identifies conceptual and pragmatic aspects of the access in the admission process of the University of Costa Rica. Legal framework and actions that fortify inclusion to superior education are taken into account. The role that the University of Costa Rica plays in the effort to create an inclusive university, with alternatives and proposals that agree with the needs of the students with special educational needs related or not to a disability, is acknowledged. A connection is made between the Report of the State of the Nation 2010 and the contributions of the University of Costa Rica in the construction of an accessible university.
