Descripción:Bean Common Bacterial Blight is a limiting factor on seed yield production of Phaseolus vulgaris in many countries of Central America and the Caribbean. In order to clarify the plant-pathogen interaction, a collection of Xanthomonas campestris pv. phaseoli was made in Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. The Xcp collections were inoculated on leaves of different P. vulgaris genotypes. The response to foliage inoculation identified genotypes useful for the differentiation of the pathogenicity FXcp. differences at the level of physiological races were found. On the other and, genotypes with resistance to multiple Xcp races, were also found therefore, based on foliage response, the detection of physiological races of Xcp within the collection of Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
