Description:During the 20th and 21st centuries, Costa Rica has achieved significant economic and social development, but will these achievements be enough to navigate the current global economic landscape? Do the conditions and capabilities for innovation exist? Costa Rica has performed well in terms of economic, human, and institutional development; however, when it comes to productive, scientific, and technological infrastructure, the results are not particularly conducive to technological development and innovation. Scientific and technological research and innovation in Costa Rica have a significant public and transnational component.
