Descripción:We studied the buccal morphology in a total of 213 specimens of Chirostoma consociun (61), Ch. chapalae (65), Ch. lucius (22), Ch. ocotlanae (51) and Ch. sphyraena (14). A total of eight biometrie variables of the lower jaw, ten of the upper jaw, and five complement variables were studied. Descriptive mathematical analysis (t-Student) and multivariable analysis (PCA and DFA) were applied to the data matrix. We found differences between the five species. Ch. lucius and Ch. sphyraena have the maximun buccal aperture surface. Ch. consocium and Ch. ocotlanae have the maximun denticular density of jaws and maximun buccal aperture. Finally, Ch. chapalae, with a very peculiar denticulation has maximun protusion.
