Descripción:In this article, the poetic production of Carlos Luis Sáenz Elizondo (1899-1983) in Mulita Mayor (1952) is analyzed. The critical focus here provided intends to demostrate that everyday’s world choice has a fundamental transcendence since it is a medular axis for the construction of the poetic meaning tied to the careful work with language and the ludicrous conception of the literary text. The article contains and introductory section in which theoretical arguements underlining the daily world’s value as a creation object as well as the ludicrous importance of language are discussed. In the analysis, the author discusses specific topics such as the relatioship between fantastic issues and everyday reality, Costa Rican tradition and cultural universals, and the ludicrous poetry generated by the textual semiosis. Finally, the project proposed by the author with this literary work is explored; likewise, its contributions to children’s literature is highlighted.
