Description:The study of Philosophy of Law, in those years known as Natural Law, began in Costa Rica at Casa de Enseñanza de Santo Tomás in the 1830s, and it continued in the University that was established in 1843 with the same name. In the School of Law that functioned after the University was closed, the life of this academic subject was highly irregular, and it was even excluded for many years. It was then reestablished in 1942, when the School had already been linked to the University of Costa Rica.
