الوصف: | This article reflects on the risk of a reversal in the limited progress achieved regarding gender equality that is configured by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as its relationship with the patriarchal and classist imprint of the State. It clarifies the relative commitment of the State to women rights and the particularities that within the framework of COVID-19 this acquires. It concludes discussing that the real danger for women lies in the orientation of the institutional program and policies aimed at addressing the pandemic. Moreover, in this threatening scenario, a critical position on the State and its regressive economic policies and fiscal cuts should be maintained in order to safeguard the historical legacy of women's and feminist movements and to prevent patriarchal fissures from widening and conquered women's rights from being diluted. |
