Descripción: | Using newspapers and institutional memories, this paper studies the relationship between poverty and childhood between 1950 and 1978, making an emphasis in the child nutrition, understood as a component of the child health, but at the same time, as an important factor related with the life conditions of children. Then, we analyze milk and beef consumption by poor children, the critics from the left to certain foods and to the Government, its policies toward child nutrition, and also the nutritional status of children. Finally, a balance will be made between the institutional responses and the actions to the child malnutrition, specially on the case of the nutritional centers and the school cafeterias. |
