Descripción:Red de Estudios Transdisciplinarios de América Latina y el Caribe (RETALEC) has its origins on January 10th, 2019, in which professional efforts from different Latin American and Caribbean countries have been joining, but with the same interest in delving into inequalities and problems of the elderly, in first order. The coordination of this network has been overseen by its founder and visionary, the teacher and researcher of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), Dra. María Elena Córdoba. In transdisciplinary research, this group of committed professionals has found an ally in the construction of substantial information in addressing issues related to situations that affect the various age and sociocultural groups in the region; in addition, it seeks to continue developing and strengthening the strategies that allow the production of scientific materials. RETALEC prioritizes the elderly person, who has the right to maintain healthy aging, to be considered in society without prejudice, but above all with dignity and respect. Finally, it seeks to become an open network, in which teachers and researchers interested in being part of research projects and in the production of scientific articles with a social sense can participate.
