Description: | The Freemasonry and its involvement in the public sphere has become a matter of contention in the Spanish press, prompting a significant debate. An illustrative example is the case of Guadalajara in Spain. Consequently, an investigation into this issue will be conducted during the Second Spanish Republic, a pivotal period in Spanish history when the country's political system underwent a transformation. It is therefore of interest to ascertain how the local media in Guadalajara approached the subject, with Flores y Abejas, a generalist publication; Abril, a party newspaper; and El Henares, a Catholic newspaper all featuring in the coverage. |
