Description:This article examines judicial independence as a fundamental right, from the perspective of paradigmatic sentences issued by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. At the same time, it reflects on the relevance of the protection of judicial independence for the strengthening of the rule of law and the strengthening of the democratic political regime in Latin America.
