Descripción:This article is a second bibliographic approach of the author to the subject of the pathology of non-varicose high digestive hemorrhage, since this is one of the most frequent gastrointestinal emergencies that we face in medical practice. The use of risk stratification scales is recommended to be applied in all patients and thus define risk of rebleeding with pre-endoscopic and post-endoscopic parameters. It also guides us to prioritize an endoscopic intervention and to estimate the risk of relapse and mortality. It is important to emphasize that the management of these patients should be directed to a timely and effective resuscitation aimed at hemodynamic resuscitation. All this requires a proper anamnesis and examination, elemental analysis and an endoscopy that should be performed within the first 24 hours in order to effectively treat, associated with pharmacological treatment that leads to the cure of the pathology that triggers bleeding.
