French-Language University Students and Online Education during the Pandemic

Descripción:In 2020, foreign language teaching experienced many changes as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic. This paper aims to describe the French as a foreign language students' experiences in switching their language courses to an online format. This was a mixed-methods study that collected data using both closed and open-ended questions answered by 101 participants.  Content analysis was executed for open-ended questions with statistical analysis for closed-ended questions. Noteworthy results include increased creativity, cooperation and even a more active role from students. However, students also experienced screen fatigue, stress and excessive workloads. It was concluded that remote classe satisfatory  information provided, it can be concluded that it is possible to successfully adapt and  conduct most courses remotely.
