Descrizione:This paper presents a review about the studies of live organisms throughout history and the different perspectives used to define and characterize them. It is shown that many of the dogmas of XIX and XX centuries are still applied even though the new discoveries. This review emphasizes the importance of discussion among the different disciplines to attain new views about this matter, giving the possibility to a more free research on live organisms and its interrelationships, hoping to increase the creativity that will permit a more sustainable development and understanding of our planet.
