Descripción: | The present known bat fauna of the Department of Cundinamarca, Colombia, consists of 33 species representing the following five families: Emballonuridae, 3; Phyllostomidae, 17; Desmodontidae, 1; Vespertilionidae, 6; Molossidae,6. Records were obtained by the collection of 32 1 specimens of 24 species in 1959-1963, by the examination of additional material in museums, and from the literature. The first published records for the occurrence of 25 species in the department are given, and additional records of three species (Phyllostomus discolor, Choeroniscus minor and Lonchophylla robusta) thought to be uncommon in northwest America are presented. Altitudinal ranges of several species (Sturnira ludovici, Myotis nigricans, Tadarida brasiliensis, Eumops glaucinus) are shown to be great in the western Andean region of Cundinamarca. Notes on distribution, variation, reproduction, food habits and infections are presented for most of the species. |
