Popis:The following article explains the functioning of social media as part of attention economy, whose goal is to attract the user’s attention for as long as possible. In addition, the article demonstrates its effectiveness through interviews conducted with students from the University of Costa Rica. Subsequently, this paper advocates searching for balance as an ideal for a happy life and takes up C. Newport’s proposal for a balance point in the use of social media.
