Descripción:The work derives from experience that for five years we have been accumulating in the School of Anthropology and Sociology, Universityof Costa Rica, about a self-assessment process that can become a way to achieve academic excellence in the contextof a state university, in this case, theUniversity of Costa Rica.Undoubtedly, social and cultural conditionswe currently face challenge us asreferred to the academic-professional trainingsocial scientists, particularly from anthropogeniclogos and anthropologists, sociologists. A permanent tension and heightened entered local and globalbetween the particular and the general, a continuous struggle entered promoting development and preservation of theidentity, a world ever more connected, moretech, but equally increasingly pooraffecting up his disappearance to nature. aworld that demands greater preparation for professionalupdating, efficiency in their work,academic preparation and career-ready academic profile to meet all these requirements. Processes allow self-self-properly-to takeacademic units, based on dialogue and comprehensive analysis of teaching work-administrative, and define new scenarios, academic trainingmica and relevant professional, viable, thoughtful and committed, skilled and technologically updated and humanist.
