Popis:Currently about 5% to 10% of newborns are resuscitated at birth or need some kind of assistance. In general, these children will require hospitalization in a specialized unit, therefore, specialized personnel will be needed considering that their skills and competencies play a prominent role in the child's growth and development. After a child has undergone a resuscitation process, they are exposed to a series of risks that can be seen in their health with short- and long-term sequelae. Neonates that require resuscitation maneuvers are at greater risk in terms of mortality and morbidity, such as risk of involvement in brain plasty and intellectual abilities during development. The objective is to analyze the best available scientific evidence regarding the risk of suffering neurological injuries in neonates who were exposed to neonatal resuscitation. To achieve this, the methodology of evidence based nursing will be applied, developing five steps: 1. Approach of the clinical question 2. Search in databases 3. Critical analysis of the evidence 4. Transfer of the evidence 5. Evaluation.
