Descripción:The study investigates the integration of cultural diversity and artificial intelligence (AI) within virtual learning environments in higher education, focusing on the perspectives of language teachers at universities in São Paulo. The aim is to discern effective practices, challenges, and opportunities associated with this integration, thereby providing valuable insights for educational program designers, teachers, and policymakers. Employing a quantitative correlational approach, the study selected a sample of 20 university teachers with experience in virtual learning environments. A Likert questionnaire, comprising 20 questions and validated through literature review and expert input, was utilized to collect data on teachers' utilization of AI tools. The collected data were then analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The findings indicate a widespread acknowledgment among teachers regarding the significance of cultural diversity and the efficacy of AI within cultural contexts. However, teachers also recognize the imperative to address algorithmic biases and prioritize cultural sensitivity in AI implementation. Challenges such as potential learning gaps arising from insufficient attention to cultural diversity are identified, alongside opportunities such as preparing students for a globalized and technologically driven future. The research underscores that cultural diversity in virtual environments enriches the academic experience, fostering cross-cultural understanding and nurturing global citizenship. The prevailing acceptance of AI within culturally diverse environments suggests enhancements in teaching and learning, underscoring the importance of ethical and cultural considerations. Despite challenges, the study contributes to academic discourse by emphasizing the necessity for tailored strategies and educator training. Successful integration of cultural diversity and AI is deemed vital for fostering effective, ethical, and inclusive higher education. It is recommended that strategies be devised to leverage cultural diversity and AI opportunities in higher education, with a focus on providing educators with ethical and cultural training and conscientiously designing educational technologies.
