| Descrição: | This article investigates the access to credit of microenterprises located in Alajuela, Cartago and Heredia. The research is done with a sample of 401 enterprises of multiple economic sectors, excepting agriculture. The article shows that microenterprises are not financed with formal (financial institutions regulated by SUGEF) and informal (moneylenders, friends or family) credits. Instead, these companies are mostly financed by semi-informal means (providers and clients) |
