Epistemological challenges of archival in private organizations in Colombia

| Descripció: | This essay is born from the identification of the documentary needs of private entities in Colombia, which should not respond to the archival governing body in accordance with Colombian Law. Therefore, the epistemological challenges faced by archivists in private entities are identified, as well as the elements that provide scientificity to the area, and the role of the archivist in solving challenges and problems is highlighted. This is achieved through observation without intervention during a document management project in a private entity and is corroborated by bibliographic research. In this sense, three epistemological challenges were identified and developed, which are: the adaptation of archival instruments for private entities, the questioning of the concept of document and the questioning of the scope of archiving. As a result, it was identified that the main characteristic that provides scientificity and reduces questions is the resolution of problems applying the paradigms and the theory of the area, as well as the unanimity in the union regarding the application and adaptation of archival tools to guarantee satisfaction. of the user, finally, it is concluded that archiving has the theoretical foundations and paradigms necessary to face the epistemological challenges in the labor field, however, in Colombia, the archivist must have a user-centered approach to guarantee that the resolution of problems is effective, and the archival theory is not applied in a taxing and bureaucratic way. |
