Description:The following article provides a comprehensive overview of the most widely used teaching models, approaches, and paradigms by high school teachers in Latin America. The document is generated as a result of a research process developed between 2021 and 2023, the objective of which was to explore and analyze the most relevant paradigms, models, and didactic approaches in teaching practice in secondary education in Latin America, highlighting their implications for improving teaching and learning. More than sixty primary and secondary sources were reviewed, which provided relevant information, allowing not only a historical tour of the most influential teaching models, approaches, and paradigms, but also reaching important conclusions, among which the following stand out: the teaching paradigms, approaches, and models that have been used over the years respond to a way of mediating content, leaving aside a specific historical moment.
