Description:n some contemporary intellectual settings, there is a fascination with political antagonism as constitutive of the social, without paying enough attention to the different types of conflict. Despite the descriptive richness of some sociological theories of conflict, dichotomous treatments that distinguish constructive and destructive conflict are also repeated, in order to reduce the heterogeneity of the struggles functionally or pragmatically. In this article, we opt for a systematic description and a theoretical schematization of the imaginary, symbolic and real registers of conflict (under a quasilacanian Borromean knot model). Thus, a pluralistic polemology is outlined, capable of accounting for the nuances, intertwining and convertibility of human conflicts, without falling into the temptation of idealizing antagonism.
