Descripción:he Costa Rican biologist Clodomiro Picado Twight (1887-1944) did pioneering studies on the fauna inhabiting epiphytic bromeliads. In his student days, France was the mecca of many Latin American academic. For being recognized as an outstanding student, received a scholarship to study at the University of Paris (Sorbonne), where he studied among other biologists Cuénot Lucien (1866-1951) and Émile Guyenot (1885-1963). Of them acquired the interest in the study of the then new subject of organic evolution and the idea that to understand life was necessary to put in a double perspective: the external environment (the habitat of a species) and internal environment (physiology ).
