Sociolabour transformations in Esmeraldas (Ecuador) in the post-pandemic context: a perspective from labor competencies

| Descripción: | The study analyzes socio-labor transformations in the canton of Esmeraldas, Ecuador, in the post-pandemic period (2020–2023), with the aim of identifying strategies to strengthen employability through labor competencies. A quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional research desing was applied to 150 organizations in the service sector. A competency analysis matrix validated by experts was used as the evaluation instrument. Results highlight the impact of teleworking, digitalization, dual education, and certification on key competences. Emerging professional identities characterized by flexibility and self-management were also identified. The study concludes that employability requires integrating technical and transversal competencies with inclusion and cultural transformation. |
