Descripción:The objective of this article is to present several elements for the understanding of religious language and, in particular, the dogmatic declaration of the Council of Chalcedon (451) in relation to the nature of Jesus Christ: true God and true man. It begins with the theme of secularization and the demystification of society since the Enlightenment, the relationship between reason and faith, the problem of religious language and the notion of truth, and the meaning of dogma. Later, the history of this Council is reviewed, as well the dogmatic declaration and it concludes with the presentation of several consequences.
