实物特征:The global population is aging, making it essential to identify the main causes of vulnerability among elderly individuals that pose risks to their well-being and to examine the measures being implemented to address these issues. This study aims to evaluate Casas de los Abuelos (Houses of the Elders), previously known as "Communities for Elderly People from Chihuahua" and referred to as Machi in rarámuri. The research methodology is descriptive and explanatory in nature, employing thematic analysis techniques, through semi-structured interviews with elderly individuals, leaders of civil society organizations, specialists in aging, and former public officials involved in programs or policies targeting elderly people in the state of Chihuahua, as well as direct observation in the offices where the program operates. The evaluation followed the framework provided by the National Council for the Evaluation of Social Development Policy (CONEVAL in spanish). Findings indicate that the Elders' Houses program contributes to the physical and mental health of elderly individuals and foster their skill development, particularly among those experiencing poverty and social exclusion. However, the program's coverage is limited, leaving a significant portion of the target population without access. This highlights the need to expand the program, which can be considered a good practice for supporting this vulnerable population.
