Emotional Intelligence: Its relation with academic performance in preadolescents of "4TH April" First Cycle School, Angola

Descripción:The research was conducted in order to characterize the expression of emotional intelligence in preadolescents with low academic performance of the school "April 4" in the province of Huambo, Angola. It was used a mixed paradigm, predominantly quantitative with a non-experimental design and a cross-sectional and exploratory type of study. There were evaluated 60 adolescents, 30 with low and medium academic performance respectively. In addition, it was applied the Trait Meta-Mood Scale, School Report, Conflict dialog and Composition. Emotional Intelligence showed different results in both groups of preadolescents, in terms of perception, understanding and facilitation, being better in the middle academic performance group. As part of the results, it was revealed that the greatest difficulties were appreciated in emotional regulation.
