Descripción: | The following article presents the communal participation of women within the rural areas; specifically, in Santa Cruz of Turrialba, through a qualitative analysis of the organization called “Union de Grupos Organizados de Santa Cruz,” which is led and developed predominantly by women. This work parts from the experience of student practices with economical support developed within the academic curriculum of the Planning and Social Promotion School from the National University (UNA), where the integration of students in different communities and organizations of the country is allowed. This aims to integrate university extension and entailment of the students to different contexts of the Costa Rican society. As a main result, it is highlighted the associativity of these entrepreneur, visionary, leading, hard-working, house-keeper, women committed to the growth of their communities. |
