Description:The objective of this research is to show the social transformation of the young man who crosses the border. For this purpose, we have situated, theoretically and conceptually, the trip to the United States as a “rite of passage” in the sense proposed by Arnold van Gennep. Methodologically, we used ethnography and structured interviews during the time of the study (2020-2022). Finally, the contribution of this research is to reveal this rite of passage as a social construction that exalts migratory work.
