Descripción:In the last decade the Argentine State implemented a social security policy allowing older people linked to informal work and / or domestic work to retire. It was popularly known as "retirement of housewives" because millions of women agreed to it. Retire with this new modality would provide resources for the personal development of women then it would make a different sense to the retirement transition, generally understood as a duel from the psychogerontological approach. It is an exploratory work of qualitative approach that is in its initial phase, inquiry was made through semi-structured interviews to an intentional sample of four older adults from Santiago del Estero and Catamarca, who accessed the pension benefit during the 2005-2015 period. Partial results show that public policies offer new performative models capable of transforming the subjectivity of older women, allowing them to reformulate their identity, exercise citizenship and build political subjectivity.
