Description:This work is part of a broader research project on the problems of the construction of an Argentine national identity in/from ballet during the decades of 1910, 1920, and 1930. On this occasion, we intend to focus on the case of Cuadro Campestre, choreographed by Bronislava Nijinska and premiered at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires in 1926. The article will focus on replacing both the allusions to this work in the immediate journalistic reception as well as in the main narratives of dance history in Argentina.
