The competent professional nursing is one that makes his performance holistically at the time of providing nursing care to activities and context problems with expertise and ethical commitment, integrating knowledge be, know-how and know- know . Objective: To determine if there are differences in the level of competency of the nursing care according to their academic training.Method. The study of non-experimental, cross-sectional design, no causal correlational descriptive scope, the representative sample was 122 nurses working in public and private hospitals in Hermosillo, Sonora.Result. The predominant age of the population is 33-46 years old ( = 32,66 , SD = 7.60 ) , most of the 73 % female , college graduates enrolled 52,5 %, with a shorter over 4 years 45,9 % and length of service is between 1-5 years in 45,9 % , the grade obtained in the overall assessment is fairly competent Fx 3, 3,4 % ( = 72,49 SD = 3,74 ) for each competition was as follows HPAMPE ( = 77,49 SD = 4,98) , CACCH ( = 71.69 SD = 6,38 ) and CAMS ( = 63,01 DE = 9,34 ), rejecting the hypothesis posed.Conclusion. The professional nurse assessed no competent and only three were found moderately competent person and are schooled leveling level and was found face more competition in HPAMPE followed by CACCH and competition was not competent CAMS.
