Descripción:  This article focuses on deepening the understanding of the Masonic field during the period of Carlos Conforti as Grand Master (1911-1914). His administration coincided with one of the greatest fragmentations experienced by Argentine Freemasonry. The divisions within Freemasonry stemmed from reasons of various kinds: from demands and complaints for greater administrative transparency within the institution, to criticism over its insufficient or nonexistent involvement in “profane” society and specifically in the political arena; from doctrinal disagreements regarding religious and anticlerical issues, to factional conflicts.
