Descrizione:Perspex Amber dosimeters are used in two distinct dose ranges, defined by the wavelengths used for measurement. The goal of this work was to determine the influence of extending the dose range on the uncertainty components associated with measurement scatter and the calibration curve. For this, four dosimeters were irradiated at each of the ten selected dose levels, extending beyond the manufacturer’s recommended dose range. The calibration curves were fitted with a third-degree polynomial and verified its validity by analyzing the normality of the residuals and homoscedasticity. 37,5% of the evaluated ranges did not meet the statistical validity criteria. In the valid ranges, the associated uncertainties were less than 3 %. Therefore, the use of an extended dose range in the calibration of Perspex Amber dosimeters is considered feasible, provided that the validity of the fitting model employed is verified.
