Descripción:The action of synthetic plant hormones on pathogenic fungi was studíed. The hormones used were 2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2 , 4-D) and 2, 4, 5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2, 4, 5-T) ; the fungi used were Caudida albicans, Phialophora jeanselmei and Microsporum gypseun. No activity was shown by 2, 4-D on these fungi. On the other hand a lethal action of 2, 4, s-T was observed. The minimum lethal concentrations were: for C. albicans 190 mg/1iter; for M. gypseum 19 mg/liter and for Ph. jeanselmei 12.8 mg/liter. The hormone was growth-stimulant to C. albicalns in a concentration of 47.5 mg/liter; no stimulus was observed in the other fungi. Some remarks are made, on the possible application of these hormones in dermic mycoses, which is now being investigated.
