Descripción:Since Chile's independence, the health policy has had various reforms. One key and modern reform is Universal Access with Explicit Guarantees in Health (AUGE). The main objective of AUGE is to improve the quality of life of the Chileans by the reduction of inequalities. The prioritization of the right to health and a health policy that adapts to the needs of the population; adds to health equity as it increases the capacities and functionings of persons. This investigation examines equity in the health policy, during the period 2005-2020 in Chile and uses a modified version of Amartya Sen's capacity approach. The theories and relevant readings of human rights, health policy and health also form part of the analysis of this investigation.
