Descripción:The coastal and alluvial morphology evolution during the last 50 years of part of central pacificarea (From Esterillos to Quepos) have been analyzed. The most evident change at the coastal zone is the Damasbar migration. The posibles causes of this migration are a combination of local agents (e.g. tectonic setting) Theincrease of volumen of water transported by the principals streams channels, an increase of wave, tides andcurrents energy are the posibles responsables for the morphological changes of Damas bar. Because of tectonicfactors, normal sea level rise, and climatic changes the sedimentary system at the zone is trasgresive. Theanalysis of the morphological and sedimentological changes associated with the local tectonic setting suggestsa SE inclination of the zone. The alluvial system presents a meandric belt (Parrita river), which migrated SE theactual alluvial plain. This annormal situation would has been generated by the SE inclination of the area.
