Descripció:The main topic of this article is the analysis of the social space construction through the shaping of the “aristocratic” city in the barrio Cothnejo-Fishy (1923) of the writer Carmen Lyra as decisive element of the Costa Rican conservative project. Two specific objectives are considered, the first one tries to determine the special conditions for the creation of a “aristocratic,” conservative and unequal city in the choice tales, and the second one identifies the familiar, social and economic relationships of the barrio Cothnejo-Fishy as a representation of the oligarchic classes or groups.  The methodological proposal is based on the analysis of the six literary tales of barrio Cothnejo-Fishy by the writer Carmen Lyra, published in 1923 and compiled in Narrativa de Carmen Lyra: relatos escogidos, published by the Editorial Costa Rica in 2015. It is concluded that the tales of the barrio Cothnejo-Fishy show what Ette (2008) named a literature in motion, since these tales are not only a complaint of inequality and the project of Costa Rican society at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century, but also through their movement appear a reconstruction and a walk through of the barrio, from the spaces of sociability until its most superfluous daily activities.
