Emotions in a social policy in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic: dimensions of anger

| その他の書誌記述: | Introduction: The context of the global COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 put into operation different state interventions that sought to reduce the difficulties in accessing income. Among these, the Emergency Family Income (IFE) began to operate in Argentina. The management and access to this went through several obstacles and generated different emotions, observed from the realization of a virtual ethnography in a group on Facebook. Objective: This paper develops from the sociology of bodies/emotions, how anger unfolds among the recipients of a social policy. Results: Anger is the product of the mismatch between expectation and experience, in the face of arbitrariness and irregular functioning in the implementation. It also presents a binding and supportive character, which is shared in search of empathy and reaffirmation. Finally, it appears motivated by the assessments of merit/non-deservingness of the subsidies, as well as about the politicians and rulers who manage them. Conclusion: The question arises about the potential of anger among social policy recipients as an input to review state intervention processes. |
