| Descrizione: | Introduction: This study examines the musical activities carried out by faculty and students at the Academia de Bellas Artes and the Escuela Oficial de Música Sagrada de Morelia, within the community of Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico. Objective: To analyze literary-musical evenings as a contribution by both institutions to the development of music in Mexico during the post-revolutionary period, considered a pivotal moment in the consolidation of the country’s cultural identity between 1919 and 1924. Methods: A review and analysis were conducted of the concert programs preserved in the archives of the Library of the Conservatorio de las Rosas in Morelia, Michoacán, as well as of specialized bibliographic sources on the subject. Results: The programs reviewed document the participation of teachers and students in literary-musical evenings. Relevant data were recorded regarding the names of the events, the organizing institutions, the repertoire performed, the venues, and the participating musicians. Conclusions: The repertoire of Mexican composers included works by Manuel M. Ponce, José Guadalupe Velázquez, and Agustín González, reflecting the integration of domestic musical output into the artistic offerings of the time. |
