Descripción:This paper describes the reflexive process within the framework of a psychotherapeutic case addressed with Systemic Therapy, analyzing the role of social support as an important element to improve a woman's emotional state derived from a separation. In this Systemic Therapy single-case clinical study, the main research tool was the content analysis. Among the prominent results were: the consultant’s reflexive process, which strengthened the objective and subjective dimensions of social support; the consolidation of social support networks; and the changes on historical family interaction patterns. The conclusions aim towards the importance of strengthening social support as an essential element for a separated person to legally formalize the dissolution of their conjugal union.
