Joint and Involve Teaching: The Experience of Participatory Seminars

Diğer Bilgiler:This article is about work experiences that the authors have had as teachers in participatory seminars a methodological option of humanities courses given by the General Studies at the University of Costa Rica. The paper reviews this teaching method, a conceptualization and methodology that has been used since 1974. Through examples, the authors seek to visualize how course take joint and involve teaching, across of the importance of the application of theory, critical analysis and use of arguments. The work in seminars allows to generate a position in reference to reality, surpassing the routine and the stated desire among students to get a help by the teacher, to encourage reflection and internalization of knowledge. The aim of the authors is to rescue the contribution that this kind of teaching has given to make the students be more than just spectators, but protagonists of addressing political, social and economic reality, the cultural context in which as future professionals they will unfold.
