| Περιγραφή: | The article examines the influence of liberation theology on Sandinista thought through the work of poet and priest Ernesto Cardenal. The objective is to analyze how these ideas shaped key concepts in Sandinista ideology, such as anti-imperialism, revolution, and justice. To this end, the study used the tools of conceptual history and a qualitative methodology based on content analysis of Cardenal’s texts, highlighting the use of religious and political terms to reinterpret Nicaragua’s sociopolitical reality. The main findings show that Cardenal fused elements of Christianity and socialism in his works to justify the armed struggle against the Somoza dictatorship and question US political influence. Through his poetry, he legitimized the revolution as a divine and moral necessity. This ideological mix helped mobilize social sectors in the Sandinista Revolution, giving a spiritual dimension to the struggle for the liberation of the oppressed. |
