Strategies for the Georeference of GNSS Surveys Within the CR-SIRGAS National Geodetic Frame

Descrizione:In 2020, the Real Estate Registry of Costa Rica published guidelines DRI-001-2020 and DIG-001-2020, which update the linkage of geospatial information to the national geodetic reference frame CR-SIRGAS. To comply with these guidelines, coordinating transformations between geodetic reference frames are required, due to the definition of the first version of CR-SIRGAS, which uses epoch 2014. 59 of the International Terrestrial Reference Frame 2008 (ITRF2008). This document presents the results of six variants applied to transform to epoch 2019.24 and two sub-variants to reach epoch 2014.59 of the CR-SIRGAS geodetic frame. These georeferencing variants and sub-variants were applied to 31 new point surveys using the static method and two surveys using the RTK method. The processing variations considered included the use of official transformation parameters provided by the National Geographic Institute (IGN), the calculation of custom parameters, the use of rapid and final ephemerides from the International GNSS Service (IGS), and the use of the web-based post-processing platform provided by the IGN, called Spider Business Center. Depending on the processing method used to transform from the measurement epoch (ti) to the reference epoch (t0 = 2019.24), differences in geocentric coordinates ranged from ±4 mm to a maximum of ±4 cm. Subsequently, a comparative analysis was conducted between transformation parameters and residual values for each variant and sub-variant, excluding the scale factor in the calculation of custom transformation parameters.
