Descripción: | The following article studies the angst for the uncanny in the short story "Insomnio", by Yolanda Oreamuno. Parting form Freud's concept of the Unheimlich, there are several elements that transform the protagonist's insomnia into an angst attack: the night is alive, it pulsates and observes; there is a dissociation of her body, the inanimate lives and even dies; there are voices and hallucinations. In this manner, the horizontal position in the darkness refers to the premature burial, which provokes an angst attack in the protagonist. |
