Descripción:The aim of this article is to present three problematic axes about the connection between crime and poverty such as it has been rebuilt by the convergence of crime prevention strategies and social policies in contemporary Argentina. A qualitative methodology was used, combining documentary research and “in-depth interviews” techniques. We argue that the processes of producing citizenship in which these policies are involved are characterized by the “paradoxical place” of social crime prevention, the trend towards individualization and the communitarisation as well as the definitions around their “target population”.
