Opis:From the perspective of some members of the Argentine and international medical elite, the influenza that hit the world population between 1918 and 1919 would bring -eventually- some mental imbalances. We situate ourselves in the theoretical debates of what is known as the “psi field” about influenza, in the processes of definitions and search for establishing of a branch of the art of healing that was not yet fully differentiated from other areas of medicine or professionally recognized in Argentina. However, as we will see in the following pages, even in the national interior certain representatives of the field of psychiatry would be located during the internship on the stage of discussions that revolved around the “mental” manifestations and imbalances, in this case associated with a particular ill. In this sense, Rosario would be the enclave from where ideas and knowledge circulating in the international concert would be placed in tension.
