Description:The objective of this research is to analyze the  perceptions of the teachers of the Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación (SNTE) of Tamaulipas, Mexico, regarding the conditions for a profound democratic transformation in the context of the labor reform in union matters of 2019. The work is the result of a qualitative research, which consisted of 22 semi-structured interviews with people chosen through a convenience sample. The findings allow us to identify favorable conditions, but also important limitations for this transformation.
