Descripción:The article analyzes the laws related to communication and gender of nine Latin American countries in order to identify, by analyzing content, the ways in which the right to communication with gender perspective is mainstreamed. We present a brief summary of each national context, analyze how gender and the right to communication in each country is understood, create three types of cases to rank the countries –from the most advanced to the most laggards in the mainstreaming– of the right to communicate with a gender perspective, and finally, we identified international instruments and affirmative actions for the gender mainstreaming in communication key.
